Do you love to read? You might connect to a theme, recognize yourself in a character, or learn something new or different from what you’ve previously known. If this sounds like you, enter the annual Letters About Literature contest that asks you to write a letter to an author (living or dead!) about why their work (a book, short story, poem, essay, or play) is important to you. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Center for the Book, the statewide Letters About Literature program awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes and several honorable mentions.
Join Tween Services Librarian (and one of last year’s judges!) Alicia for activities and tips to help you choose an author and write your letter! Attending all three sessions is encouraged but not required.
For tweens in grades 4-6.
