Generative Poetry Workshop: The Poetic Obsession

Saturday, April 272:00—4:00 PMComputer LabMain Library3 Salem Square , Worcester, MA, 01608

Through a series of prompts, exercises, and examples Worcester Poet Laureate, Oliver de la Paz, will demonstrate ways writers can reinvigorate their own writing by looking closer at singular obsessions. Our job, out of all this, will be simple. Our plan will be to find the secret door to our experience and open it. We will not be looking for ways out, but for ways in. Recommended for intermediate to advanced writers.

Oliver de la Paz is the author and editor of seven books. His latest collection of poetry, The Diaspora Sonnets, was published by Liveright Press (2023). In 2023 he was appointed as the Poet Laureate of Worcester, MA. He is a founding member of Kundiman and he teaches at the College of the Holy Cross and in the Low-Residency MFA Program at PLU.
