Join us for a screening of the Shudder Original documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, an untold history of Black Americans through their connection to the horror film genre. After the discussion, film co-writer and co-producer, Ashlee Blackwell, will join us virtually for a Q & A. The film will be shown 6:00 - 7:30 with a 45 minute discussion to follow. 

Ashlee Blackwell is writer and the creator of Graveyard Shift Sisters, a digital archive preserving the legacy of Black women in horror cinema. She is the co-writer/producer of the award winning documentary, Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror. She additonally is a podcast producer and the co-host of Rhythm & Schooled, a miniseries that historically goes in-depth on 1990s R&B one year at a time with screenwriter Robin Shanea. And lastly, Ashlee is a film and media studies adjunct professor at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.
